Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey announced that Brent Shepherd has joined the firm as a managing director of its Capital Markets Group. Based out of Chicago, Shepherd will co-lead the firm’s Healthcare Capital Markets efforts along with Managing Director Neha Shah.
Shepherd joins the firm following 24 years at Capital One’s Healthcare Banking and Lending unit (formerly known as GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services before the sale to Capital One in 2015). At Capital One, Shepherd most recently served as a Managing Director covering Healthcare Sponsor Finance.
While in this role, Shepherd financed large and middle-market acquisitions and portfolio add-ons for financial sponsors. Before Capital One acquired GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services, Shepherd was a Managing Director there for ten years, leading investments for GE’s healthcare direct investment practice.
With over 90 dedicated finance professionals across offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, London, Manchester, Frankfurt, Milan, Dubai, and Paris, Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group is amongst the largest of its kind in financial services. And the group provides capital-raising services for various clients, ranging from private-equity-backed portfolio companies and publicly held corporations to privately held businesses.
