Leading independent investment firm Hunter Point Capital (HPC) announced that Conway Bate and Melvin Hibberd have been promoted to Global Head of Capital Formation and Chief Investment Officer, respectively.
The promotions highlight HPC’s growth since its founding in 2020. The firm signed strategic partnerships with preeminent alternative asset managers worldwide and launched the GP Financing Solutions (GPFS) platform last year to offer personalized and flexible capital solutions to a range of sponsors through NAV loans and preferred equity.
As Global Head of Capital Formation, Bate will lead HPC’s growing team of capital formation professionals. This group – which she helped build since joining the firm in 2022 – is responsible for capital raising at HPC and offering related counsel and support to the firm’s GP partners. Bate previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Capital Formation group at HPC.
As Chief Investment Officer, Hibberd will oversee HPC’s investments across the firm’s GP Stakes and GPFS platforms, steering HPC’s investment strategy, processes, and portfolio construction. Since joining HPC in 2021 as a Managing Director and Head of the Investment Team, Hibberd has helped facilitate many of the firm’s investments.
