Hunter Point Capital Appoints Bill Sonneborn As President And COO And Michael Arpey Named As Vice Chairman

Hunter Point Capital has appointed William “Bill” Sonneborn as President and Chief Operating Officer as the alternative asset management investment firm scales beyond $10 billion in assets under management. Michael Arpey has also been promoted to Vice Chairman.

Sonneborn will work with Hunter Point Capital’s senior leadership team on strategic and operational priorities, including expanding the business, supporting its growing investor and client base and increasing the organization’s ability to operate efficiently at greater scale.

He brings more than three decades of experience across alternative investments, asset management and financial services. Sonneborn has held leadership positions at Generate Capital, International Finance Corporation, EIG and KKR, where he served on the firm’s nine-member management committee.

Earlier, he served as President and COO of TCW Group and held roles at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong.

Arpey’s move to Vice Chairman is intended to allow him to spend more time working with the thousands of limited partners in Hunter Point Capital’s network and supporting its GP partners.

Hunter Point Capital provides capital solutions and strategic support to alternative asset managers seeking to build and scale investment franchises. Sonneborn said the firm’s recent move beyond $10 billion in AUM made the timing of his appointment particularly attractive.
