Hurricane Capital announced it has acquired Kiyomi AI, positioning the technology as a new portfolio-intelligence layer intended to deepen the firm’s AI-enabled institutional trading and execution workflows.

The acquisition follows Hurricane Capital’s 2025 strategic investment in Transient.AI and is framed by the firm as another step in its push to apply artificial intelligence across trading, analytics, and broader front-office decision-making. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Kiyomi AI was developed by Jacob Koenig, a former Head of Taiwan Execution Services at Goldman Sachs, and is designed to help institutional users interpret what is driving portfolio moves by combining market-structure expertise with AI-based analysis.

Hurricane Capital said Kiyomi AI will be embedded at the core of Transient.AI and powered by Transient’s proprietary Declarative AI framework, with the goal of creating a standardized “execution intelligence” layer that can operate within controlled institutional environments.

According to the announcement, Transient.AI will provide governance, security, and data controls, while enabling interoperability across workflows and scalable orchestration of AI models. The combined offering is expected to be delivered through Transient.AI’s software-as-a-service suite.

Hurricane Capital said it plans to offer Kiyomi AI as part of the Transient.AI SaaS suite, describing it as an intelligence layer designed to support “indicative,” AI-driven trading capabilities in the near future and to serve fund managers across multiple asset classes.

The firm positioned the deal as consistent with its broader investment thesis: integrating advanced AI systems with trading domain expertise to improve decision-making, execution insight, and overall fund performance.

KEY QUOTE:

“I am thrilled to be partnering with Hurricane Capital and Transient.AI to bring Kiyomi AI to life. Kiyomi means ‘Pure Sight’ in Japanese, and that’s exactly what we’re building: an awareness layer that cuts through the noise to show you what’s actually moving your book and why. Hurricane’s technology is years ahead of the industry, and Kiyomi is a showcase of what’s possible when deep market expertise meets cutting-edge AI.”
