Hush Security, a Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity startup, announced it has emerged from stealth with $11 million in seed funding to launch its secretless, policy-driven access platform for securing machine identities. The round was co-led by Battery Ventures and YL Ventures, with the company already counting multiple Fortune 500 enterprises among its paying customers.
The platform is designed to address the growing risks posed by static secrets—such as API keys, credentials, and service accounts—that are still widely used to manage machine-to-machine access. Traditional vaults and secrets managers store these credentials, but in fast-changing and AI-driven environments, they can become a liability. Hush replaces them entirely with just-in-time, runtime-enforced access policies that adapt dynamically to workloads, services, and AI agents.
Its technology delivers three core capabilities: continuous runtime visibility and discovery of all workloads and agents; posture analysis that prioritizes risks based on real-time behavior and potential impact; and prevention tools that block credential-based threats by eliminating static secrets. Built on the SPIFFE framework, the platform supports both cloud and on-premises deployments, streamlining compliance and reducing operational overhead for security, DevOps, and development teams.
The company’s founders previously built Meta Networks, acquired by Proofpoint in 2019, and are positioning Hush to lead a shift toward zero-trust, policy-based machine identity security. With Gartner predicting that 40% of organizations will adopt a secretless approach by 2027, Hush aims to be at the forefront of this transition, especially as AI agents and automated workloads proliferate.
How the funding will be used: The new funding will be used to expand engineering resources and accelerate global go-to-market efforts. Hush also offers a free assessment tool that scans code for secrets, identifies their owners, and maps their use across applications, services, and AI agents—helping organizations transition to a fully secretless architecture.
KEY QUOTES:
“Chasing secrets or watching dashboards doesn’t stop attacks. Vaults were built for an era where environments changed slowly and AI was not part of the equation. That era is over. AI agents, ephemeral workloads, and automation have changed the game, and the vault model can’t keep up. We’ve eliminated the need for credentials entirely, introducing a groundbreaking new model for machine access.”
Micha Rave, CEO and co-founder of Hush Security
“We’re at a critical inflection point. Static secrets simply can’t keep pace with modern infrastructure, rapid development cycles, and the demands of AI-driven workloads. Hush Security’s seasoned team and cutting-edge technology offer the right approach to replace secrets with dynamic policies, and we believe this is the beginning of the end for credential-based attacks.”
Barak Schoster, Partner at Battery Ventures
“Machine identity security is entering a new era, and we see Hush Security leading the shift to a secure, policy-based future, especially as AI agents and LLMs proliferate. They’ve built the right technology at the right time. With bold vision and strong execution, Hush is ready to redefine how machine identities are protected.”
