Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Delta Air Lines have announced a long-term strategic loyalty collaboration that will connect the World of Hyatt and Delta SkyMiles programs, allowing eligible elite members to earn rewards across both hotel stays and air travel.
The exclusive relationship is expected to launch in the coming months, with initial benefits focused on elite members of the two loyalty programs.
Once the collaboration goes live, eligible World of Hyatt elite members will be able to earn World of Hyatt points on qualifying Delta airfare purchases, subject to eligible fare classes.
At the same time, eligible Delta SkyMiles Medallion members will be able to earn Delta miles on qualifying stays at participating Hyatt properties.
The dual-earn structure is designed to connect the hotel and airline portions of a customer’s trip rather than treating the two loyalty experiences independently.
Hyatt and Delta also plan to introduce exclusive benefits and travel experiences, with additional details about enrollment, eligibility, earning opportunities and launch experiences expected in the coming months.
The companies highlighted several examples of how their networks can be combined, including Delta flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong paired with Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, JFK to Malta with Hyatt Centric Malta, Seattle to Rome with the upcoming Thompson Rome, and Detroit to Shanghai with Park Hyatt Shanghai.
Other examples include Delta’s Atlanta-to-Cancún service paired with Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen, Denver-to-Nashville with Grand Hyatt Nashville, and Austin-to-Paris with Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme.
The partnership gives Hyatt another avenue for expanding engagement with its rapidly growing loyalty membership. World of Hyatt has approximately 69 million members, who can earn and redeem points across Hyatt hotels, dining, spa services and other experiences.
Hyatt and Delta have not yet disclosed the complete eligibility requirements, earning rates or exact launch date.
