Hyphen: $25 Million Series B Raised For Scaling Automated Meal Production

Hyphen is a foodservice platform that focuses on automated meal production. The company has raised $25 million in Series B funding, with investment from CAVA Group. This funding will help Hyphen bring its Automated Makeline from the factory to restaurants across the U.S.

Demand for food delivery is increasing. A study by Service Management Group shows that if people can’t find their favorite restaurant, three out of four of them will choose a competitor. At the same time, many restaurants are facing ongoing labor shortages. Hyphen’s platform utilizes advanced robotics and AI to enhance order accuracy, increase capacity during peak hours, and enable staff to devote more time to customer service.

To increase production, Hyphen will collaborate with Re:Build Manufacturing, a U.S.-based company. To ensure smooth installations and support throughout the country, Hyphen has partnered with Ricoh USA, Inc., which has a network of over 15,000 certified technicians trusted by major companies.

KEY QUOTES:

“This new funding is a testament to the impact Hyphen’s team and technology are having on restaurant operations. We are galvanized by this investment to scale our manufacturing, support our growing customer base, and continue innovating as we build the future of foodservice.”

Stephen Klein, CoFounder and CEO of Hyphen

“As we continue to scale, we’re eager to invest in and test technology that can enhance—not replace—the human experience. By piloting Hyphen’s automated digital makeline, we have the opportunity to increase order accuracy and speed during peak digital hours, while reducing complexity for our team members. That means more time spent delivering exceptional hospitality and crafting the Mediterranean flavors our guests love. It’s a meaningful step in our commitment to operational excellence and innovation that supports both our growth and our people.”
