IBM recently announced the launch of IBM Digital Asset Haven, a comprehensive platform designed for financial institutions, governments, and corporations seeking to securely manage and scale their digital asset operations across multiple blockchains. The new platform allows banks and regulated enterprises to oversee the full digital asset lifecycle from custody to transactions and settlement while maintaining compliance, security, and sovereignty standards.
Developed in collaboration with Dfns, a digital wallet infrastructure provider, IBM Digital Asset Haven combines IBM’s enterprise-grade infrastructure and security expertise with Dfns’ proven custody and wallet management technology. Dfns currently supports more than 250 clients and has generated over 15 million digital wallets, demonstrating its operational scalability and reliability in complex compliance environments.
As tokenized assets and stablecoins gain traction globally, the need for secure, compliant systems has become critical for financial institutions. IBM’s new platform provides these organizations with the technical and operational foundation to enter the digital asset economy with confidence. The platform offers native controls for data residency, multi-party approvals, and governance policies, ensuring institutions can align with jurisdictional requirements while maintaining efficiency.
IBM Digital Asset Haven provides several core capabilities designed to address institutional needs. Transaction Lifecycle Management enables end-to-end automation, routing, monitoring, and settlement across more than 40 connected public and private blockchains. Its Governance and Entitlement Management framework allows for centralized wallet access, policy enforcement, and customizable authorization workflows. The platform also integrates third-party solutions for identity verification (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML), and yield generation, enabling rapid deployment and extensibility through APIs and SDKs.
Built with IBM’s signature approach to enterprise-grade security, Digital Asset Haven integrates multi-party computation (MPC), hardware security module (HSM) signing via IBM Crypto Express 8S HSMs, and IBM Offline Signing Orchestrator (OSO) for secure cold storage. These layers help regulated organizations meet strict jurisdictional mandates while preparing for the advent of quantum computing threats through guidance on quantum-safe cryptography.
The launch of IBM Digital Asset Haven reflects IBM’s broader mission to bridge traditional financial infrastructure with the emerging digital economy. The platform enables institutions to accelerate their digital transformation strategies by bringing the same level of operational assurance and governance used in traditional financial systems into blockchain-based asset management.
IBM Digital Asset Haven will be available via SaaS and hybrid SaaS, leveraging IBM Z and LinuxONE infrastructure, in Q4 2025, with an on-premises release scheduled for Q2 2026.
