iCapital, a fintech company focused on alternative investments and other non-traditional products for wealth managers and advisors, has appointed wealth-management executive Gary Gallagher as president, reporting to Chairman and CEO Lawrence Calcano.

In the role, Gallagher will help lead iCapital’s go-to-market activities across the U.S., including oversight of client relationships, investment product distribution, and the scaling of platform and technology initiatives.

Gallagher joins iCapital after more than three decades building and scaling financial advisory and wealth-platform businesses. He most recently served on the executive team at Fidelity Institutional as head of strategic business development, where he worked on partnerships with private equity firms, wealth technology providers, asset managers, and other industry participants. iCapital said his responsibilities at Fidelity also included investment platforms and advisory solutions spanning managed accounts, alternative investments, digital assets, portfolio engineering, and research.

Earlier in his career, Gallagher was president of Fidelity Institutional Wealth Advisor and held senior leadership roles in product, platform, and business development at LPL Financial, Citibank, and KPMG. He holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

The appointment follows broader hiring and expansion efforts the company highlighted as part of its leadership investment strategy. iCapital said it grew its global workforce by 31% in 2025 to more than 2,200 employees and expanded its footprint with new offices in Sydney, Abu Dhabi, and Miami. The company also cited recent leadership additions and appointments including Henrique Francisco as chief technology officer, Jeff McGoey as chief operating officer, and Sonali Basak as chief investment strategist, along with the promotion of Bekka Marrs to chief product officer.

iCapital said it services more than $1 trillion in assets globally on its platform as of Oct. 31, 2025, including $283.9 billion in alternative platform assets, $228.8 billion in structured investments and annuities outstanding, and $542.2 billion in client assets reported on. The company said it serves more than 3,000 wealth management firms and 121,000 active financial professionals.
