ID Finance has secured €545 million in debt and equity funding from international investors Spice Expeditions, LP, Washington University Investment Management Company, Kingsway Capital, and i80 Group. The financing represents one of the largest transactions completed by a Spanish fintech company in recent years and marks a significant milestone in ID Finance’s growth strategy.
The new capital will support the next phase of growth for Plazo, ID Finance’s flagship consumer finance platform in Spain. The company plans to use the financing to expand Plazo’s product offering, support continued innovation, and strengthen the platform as it seeks to serve a broader range of consumer financial needs.
Plazo is a key part of ID Finance’s strategy to modernize consumer finance by offering products that are more accessible, flexible, and convenient. The additional funding gives the company more resources to develop new products and enhance its existing services as it continues to build out the platform.
As part of that expansion, Plazo recently introduced Turrón by Plazo, adding another offering to its growing portfolio of consumer financial products. The launch reflects ID Finance’s broader effort to continue developing new services around the Plazo platform while responding to evolving consumer demand in the Spanish financial market.
ID Finance said the financing marks an important step in the company’s long-term development and strengthens its ability to pursue further growth and product innovation. By combining debt and equity capital, the company is adding financial flexibility as it continues investing in the expansion of Plazo.
The participation of Spice Expeditions, Washington University Investment Management Company, Kingsway Capital, and i80 Group also brings a group of international investors behind ID Finance’s next stage of development. The company said the transaction reflects investor confidence in its business model, long-term strategy, and growth prospects.
With the new capital, ID Finance plans to continue expanding Plazo and developing financial solutions to improve how consumers access and use financial services in Spain.
