IDnow has appointed Philippe Morel as Chief Executive Officer as the European digital identity and fraud prevention company expands beyond one-time customer verification into continuous identity, risk and trust management. Morel succeeds Andreas Bodczek, who is stepping down after more than seven years leading IDnow.
The appointment follows the June 2026 launch of the IDnow Trust Platform, which combines identity verification, fraud prevention, biometric authentication and qualified digital trust services across the customer lifecycle.
Morel brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across financial services, technology platforms and regulated markets.
He most recently served as CEO of Railsr, a payments and embedded finance platform. At Railsr, he led a strategic repositioning and commercial rebuilding before the company’s merger with Equals Money.
Before Railsr, Morel served as CEO of SETL, a blockchain-based financial market infrastructure provider.
At SETL, he repositioned the company around payments and digital settlement networks and helped launch the Regulated Liability Network, which was tested with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
He also led tokenization projects for major financial institutions.
Earlier in his career, Morel worked at Boston Consulting Group, where he became a Senior Partner and Managing Director.
He led BCG’s Global Capital Markets practice and its Private Equity business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His work included advising boards and senior executives on strategy, transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and growth across Europe, the United States and Asia.
Morel also spent nine years as Chair of BCG’s Global Audit and Risk Committee.
His background combines strategic consulting with direct leadership of technology and financial services companies operating in regulated environments.
That experience is expected to support IDnow as it expands its platform and responds to increasingly complex rules governing digital identity, fraud prevention and financial crime compliance.
The IDnow Trust Platform was designed to help regulated organizations move from Know Your Customer toward what the company calls Trust Your Customer.
Know Your Customer processes are commonly used to verify an individual’s identity when an account or service relationship begins.
IDnow’s continuous trust approach extends identity and risk evaluation throughout the customer relationship rather than treating verification as a one-time event.
The platform includes four modular services called Identify, Authenticate, Protect and Trust.
It also provides Orchestrate, Observe and Decide capabilities that allow customers to configure workflows, monitor risk signals and automate decisions through one integration.
This structure is designed to help businesses confirm identity, authenticate returning users, detect fraud and manage digital trust requirements across different customer interactions.
IDnow said the platform can help organizations respond to European regulations and initiatives including the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, eIDAS 2.0 and the introduction of European Union Digital Identity Wallets.
It is also intended to address increasingly sophisticated fraud involving AI-generated identities, manipulated documents, synthetic profiles and biometric attacks.
Morel said IDnow is entering an important period as digital identity wallets, regulation and AI-driven fraud reshape the market.
His first priority will be listening to customers, employees and partners before establishing the company’s next growth plan.
IDnow’s board credited Bodczek with transforming the company from a founder-led business into a private equity-backed European platform under Corsair Capital’s ownership.
During his tenure, IDnow acquired identity Trust Management and French remote identity verification company ARIADNEXT.
Those transactions expanded the company’s technology portfolio, added an engineering center in Rennes and strengthened its presence across Europe.
Bodczek also oversaw the development and launch of the IDnow Trust Platform.
IDnow has offices in Germany, the United Kingdom, Romania and France. The company provides AI-powered software for digital identity verification, fraud prevention, authentication and qualified trust services.
Morel holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in finance from HEC Paris.
