IG Wealth Management Partners With Goldman Sachs Asset Management On Strategic Wealth Portfolios

IG Wealth Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management have entered into a strategic collaboration that will bring Goldman Sachs’ institutional multi-asset investment capabilities to Canadian retail investors.

The partnership combines IG’s financial planning and advisor network with Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s portfolio management capabilities across equities, fixed income and alternative investments.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Multi-Asset Solutions team will assume portfolio management responsibilities for five IG Strategic Wealth Portfolios that were previously part of the IG Core Portfolios suite.

The portfolios are designed to give Canadian investors access to investment approaches that IG said have historically been more commonly used by sophisticated institutional investors.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management will use a holistic portfolio management approach emphasizing diversification, active asset allocation and risk management across different market environments.

The portfolios will continue to maintain globally diversified investment exposure.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management will also use its open-architecture platform and experience managing multi-manager strategies to introduce complementary Goldman Sachs investment strategies alongside existing portfolio holdings.

The collaboration is intended to help investors remain invested through different market cycles while pursuing long-term growth.

IG and Goldman Sachs said the approach reflects an increasingly complex investment environment in which economic and market conditions can change quickly and traditional static allocations may not always provide sufficient flexibility.

The firms are emphasizing dynamic asset allocation, diversified portfolios and risk management as central elements of the strategy.

The five portfolios covered by the collaboration are IG Strategic Wealth Portfolio – Income Focus, IG Strategic Wealth Portfolio – Income Balanced, IG Strategic Wealth Portfolio – Balanced, IG Strategic Wealth Portfolio – Balanced Growth and IG Strategic Wealth Portfolio – Growth.

Together, the products provide different risk and return profiles ranging from income-oriented strategies to portfolios designed for greater long-term capital growth.

IG Wealth Management manages approximately $178 billion in assets under advisement as of August 31, 2026.

The company serves approximately one million Canadian clients through a nationwide advisor network and offers financial planning, insurance, mortgage services and professionally managed investment solutions.

IG is part of IGM Financial, which had approximately $346 billion in assets under management and advisement as of August 31, 2026.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management oversees approximately $4 trillion in assets under supervision as of June 30, 2026.

Its investment platform spans fixed income, liquidity, equities, alternatives and multi-asset strategies and serves institutions, financial advisors and individual investors worldwide.

The collaboration gives Goldman Sachs Asset Management a larger role in Canada’s retail wealth market while allowing IG to incorporate institutional portfolio management capabilities into a core set of investment products distributed through its advisor network.
