IKS Health announced the acquisition of ARAI Solutions as the company looks to accelerate development of its full agentic AI technology stack and strengthen its healthcare-focused artificial intelligence capabilities.
The acquisition adds ARAI Solutions’ applied research expertise and biomedical knowledge infrastructure to IKS Health’s existing healthcare AI platform. According to the company, the integration will support the development of more efficient small language models and expand its proprietary clinical reasoning capabilities.
IKS Health said it currently operates a four-layer healthcare AI stack that includes EMR integration, platform orchestration, trust and compliance systems, and AI applications. With the addition of ARAI’s ontology and knowledge infrastructure, the company said it now has a proprietary knowledge layer that enhances its AI ecosystem.
The combined platform will utilize interconnected biomedical knowledge graphs built on peer-reviewed research that feed into a central reasoning engine. The company said these capabilities will help accelerate development across several healthcare applications, including autonomous coding, clinical decision support, denial prevention, prior authorization reasoning, and precision medicine.
IKS Health said the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver explainable and auditable AI outputs for healthcare organizations and regulators while reducing reliance on third-party AI infrastructure providers. The company also emphasized that integrating proprietary medical ontologies and clinical reasoning frameworks creates a differentiated position within the healthcare technology market.
ARAI Solutions’ explainable AI methodology is designed to transform “black box” AI systems into “glass box” AI systems that generate predictions and recommendations that are transparent, traceable, and explainable.
