Illume, a data intelligence platform built for the wellness industry, announced the closing of its pre-seed funding round alongside the launch of a new brand identity and website. The Cincinnati-based company said the funding will help expand its platform, which provides business intelligence tools tailored for med spas and aesthetics practices.

The funding round included participation from Keyhorse Capital and Cintrifuse Capital, two venture firms focused on supporting early-stage startups across the Midwest. The investment comes as Illume seeks to address a growing need for data-driven decision-making in the rapidly expanding med spa and aesthetics sector.

According to the company, many wellness practice owners still rely on spreadsheets and fragmented systems to manage operations. Illume’s platform is designed to provide real-time insights across areas such as revenue, marketing performance, patient experience, and operations, allowing operators to better understand their businesses and make faster decisions.

The company says its system provides prescriptive insights specifically tailored to the way wellness practices operate, eliminating the need for complex setup or specialized data analysts. The platform includes an AI-powered assistant called Ava, which enables practice owners to query their business data conversationally and receive answers on demand.

Illume also revealed that the launch marks its evolution from its previous brand, InsightX. The rebrand reflects the company’s sharpened focus on serving wellness businesses and its goal of making advanced data insights more accessible to practice owners.

The platform is already being used by hundreds of wellness practice locations across the United States. Illume has also assembled an advisory team with experience in the wellness and aesthetics industries, including executives and consultants who work closely with medical aesthetics brands and clinics.

Illume said the backing from Midwest-focused investors reinforces its commitment to building and scaling a high-growth technology company from Cincinnati while supporting the broader regional startup ecosystem.

KEY QUOTES

“Practice owners didn’t get into this business to spend their days in spreadsheets. They built their practices to help clients be their best selves and grow a meaningful business. Illume was built to give them the data clarity that was previously only available to large enterprises, so they can focus on what they do best and make decisions that actually move the needle. This funding accelerates our ability to deliver on that promise.”
Ben Wolber, Founder And CEO, Illume

“Wellness practice owners are sophisticated operators in a demanding market, and they deserve tools that match their expertise. Illume has done something most platforms haven’t — they’ve taken the time to truly understand this industry, and built something that fits the way practices actually work.
