Imperium Technologies: $2 Million Raised For Industrial Steam System Intelligence

Imperium Technologies, an Austin, Texas-based developer of intelligent monitoring systems for industrial steam infrastructure, has surpassed $2 million raised in funding, including backing from cleantech investment network E8 Angels.

The funding is intended to accelerate the deployment of the company’s technology platform, which aims to modernize steam systems across industrial facilities. Steam remains a major yet often overlooked component of industrial infrastructure, accounting for about 37% of fossil fuel use in U.S. industry. Many facilities still rely on manual inspection and reactive maintenance, which can lead to energy loss, emissions, and unexpected downtime.

Imperium’s solution combines its InteliTrap smart steam trap with SteamView, a data-driven monitoring platform that provides operators with real-time insight into system performance. Together, the tools enable industrial operators to detect equipment failures earlier, improve reliability, reduce energy waste, and make more informed maintenance decisions.

The company’s platform integrates intelligent hardware with software analytics to create what it describes as a new category of steam system intelligence. The technology is designed for industries including chemicals, food processing, and industrial manufacturing.

Imperium plans to use the new capital to support commercialization efforts, expand its market reach, and further develop the analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities of the SteamView platform.

Founded in Austin, Imperium Technologies focuses on helping industrial operators modernize steam systems through smart hardware and monitoring solutions designed to reduce inefficiencies and improve system performance.

KEY QUOTES:

“Steam is too important, and too costly, to remain a blind spot in industrial operations. As pressure grows to improve efficiency and cut emissions, operators need a smarter way to manage steam. Imperium is helping bring one of industry’s most overlooked systems into a more intelligent era.”

Brad Medford, CEO of Imperium Technologies

“Imperium’s smart steam traps and monitoring system can significantly reduce energy waste, potentially reducing global greenhouse gas emissions by tens of millions of tons of CO2 while making steam systems more reliable, lowering costs, and reducing wear and tear on the system. This triple win for the environment, customers, and suppliers is the kind of opportunity that E8 investors seek to make happen.”
