InCountry, a company focused on protecting sensitive data in the age of artificial intelligence, has secured $10 million in new funding. The investment was led by Arbor Ventures, with support from Caffeinated Ventures and Accelerator Ventures. This funding will enable the company to expand its latest product, AgentCloak, and introduce it to a broader global customer base.
AgentCloak is a tool designed to help businesses and governments handle personal data safely and responsibly. It utilizes advanced AI to detect and conceal sensitive information, such as names, addresses, and account numbers. But it goes further than that—it can also generalize other types of data to protect privacy. For example, it might change the word “headache” to “minor neurological condition” or turn a specific age, such as “32,” into a broader age range, like “30 to 39.” This helps organizations comply with strict privacy rules while preserving the meaning of the data.
One of AgentCloak’s strengths is its ability to understand context. If someone writes, “I’m writing about my father’s test results,” the system can recognize that two different people are being mentioned and treat their data separately. It also utilizes what InCountry calls Sovereign AI—technology trained on local languages, names, and medical terms—to ensure it operates effectively across different countries. This is especially important for meeting national data protection laws.
AgentCloak is built to work with AI agents and digital systems that operate across borders. It helps these agents comply with privacy laws such as the EU AI Act, China’s Personal Information Protection Law, and Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law. It can be used in different ways depending on the organization’s setup, including as a server, proxy, or agent-to-agent connector. It also supports training AI agents using protected data and can reveal information only to those with the proper authorization.
With this new funding, InCountry plans to invest more in research, establish new partnerships, and expand its global reach. Large businesses and government agencies already trust the company, and it hopes to make AgentCloak a standard tool for safe and compliant data handling in the AI era.
