InScribe Education, a provider of digital communities for higher education, has partnered with Indiana State University to strengthen online student success through scalable, peer-to-peer engagement as the university expands access and enrollment in its online programs.

Indiana State University is a public four-year institution serving a rapidly growing population of fully online learners, with online enrollment approaching 2,000 students. As the university’s online programs scale, leaders are focused on ensuring student support, connection, and engagement keep pace with growth.

Through the partnership, Indiana State has launched Sycamore Grove, an InScribe-powered digital community for online learners. Designed as a centralized virtual student lounge, Sycamore Grove enables students to connect with peers, ask questions, share experiences, and access guidance throughout their academic journey, reinforcing belonging and engagement beyond traditional course interactions.

Sycamore Grove complements the university’s learning management system, Canvas, by providing a dedicated environment to support student success. The community is built to help learners develop relationships with classmates, engage with faculty and staff, exchange insights and resources, and stay informed about virtual events and opportunities tied to academic momentum and degree completion.

Indiana State said the initiative aligns with a broader strategy to improve outcomes for online learners by fostering early engagement and shared knowledge. By creating consistent opportunities for students to support one another through a dedicated digital community, the university aims to strengthen persistence and sustain enrollment growth.

InScribe said its platform is designed to help institutions scale student success as online programs grow, pointing to Indiana State’s launch of Sycamore Grove as an example of how digital communities can support retention and outcomes without adding complexity for staff.
