InductiveHealth announced it has acquired SSDataInfo, a public health technology company known for its long-standing work developing and supporting the NEDSS Base System, a CDC-developed platform used by public health departments to manage reportable disease data and transmit notifiable disease information to the CDC.
The deal adds a team with decades of experience in disease surveillance programs and public health IT, including data integration and interoperability, compliance support, solution development, training, and strategic planning for surveillance systems. InductiveHealth, which provides disease surveillance, syndromic surveillance, and immunization information systems and services, said the combination is intended to expand hosting options, system enhancements, electronic messaging capabilities, and ongoing technical support for jurisdictions modernizing their public health data infrastructure.
InductiveHealth and SSDataInfo collectively work with more than 40 public health departments and agencies across the U.S., according to the companies. InductiveHealth said the acquisition strengthens its ability to support federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local health teams with a more comprehensive and timely view of reportable diseases by pairing SSDataInfo’s NBS expertise and public health subject matter knowledge with InductiveHealth’s capabilities in cloud hosting, database maintenance, electronic onboarding, data quality, and compliance.
Chief Executive Officer Eric Whitworth said the acquisition reflects a push for new partnerships as health agencies navigate modernization efforts and evolving demands. SSDataInfo co-founders Pradeep Sharma and Jit Singh said the company’s experience with scalability, interoperability, and hosting needs across state and local jurisdictions will complement InductiveHealth as agencies work through tight budget processes while upgrading critical systems.
InductiveHealth said it has been expanding its platform and services, including through its recent acquisition of Envision Technology Partners, and that organizations including the CDC rely on its technology and integration work.
