Infracost has raised a $15 million Series A round to accelerate the adoption of its platform, which enables engineers to see cloud infrastructure costs directly within their existing workflows. Pruven Capital led the funding with participation from Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Mango Capital, Alumni Ventures, TIAA Ventures, and notable angel investors, including Paul Copplestone of Supabase and Timothy Chen of Essence VC.
With public cloud spending approaching one trillion dollars annually, enterprises continue to struggle with cost control as engineers gain increasing autonomy to deploy infrastructure at scale. The company, founded in 2021, aims to shift FinOps practices earlier into engineering processes by integrating with platforms such as GitHub and GitLab to display cost impacts before deployments occur. By providing real-time cost visibility in pull requests, engineers can make proactive decisions rather than react to unexpected charges after workloads reach production.
More than 3,500 companies, including ten percent of the Fortune 500, currently use Infracost. The platform monitors over four million prices across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud and automates cost guidance to reduce unnecessary spending. The company’s founding team includes brothers Hassan and Ali Khajeh-Hosseini and Alistair Scott, who previously built a cloud cost management product acquired by Flexera. Their past experience informed their belief that cost accountability must begin inside code reviews rather than after invoices are issued.
Infracost recently introduced AutoFix, an AI-powered feature that automatically repairs Infrastructure as Code inside pull requests. The product is positioned to help organizations act on FinOps insights immediately by suggesting or generating corrections that would otherwise require hours of manual engineering effort.
KEY QUOTES
“The biggest driver of cloud cost growth isn’t AI or private cloud migrations; it’s decentralization — the ability for any engineer to launch whatever they need, whenever they need.”
“Infracost automates FinOps principles and delivers them to engineers as they write their code — or as code is generated with AI.”
“Traditional FinOps focuses on visibility after the fact. We’re focused on action — helping engineers fix code issues that might take hours, literally within seconds. And now, with AutoFix AI, the code is written for them.”
Hassan Khajeh-Hosseini, Co-Founder and CEO, Infracost
“Infracost is the cloud checkout screen we’ve never had before. It meets developers where they already work and shows, in real time, how every code change impacts cloud costs — while suggesting optimizations that prevent overspend before it happens. We work with several of the world’s largest corporations, and Infracost is a product every one of them wants.”
