Ingersoll Rand Acquires Scinomix To Expand Life Sciences Automation Capabilities

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jan 6, 2026

Ingersoll Rand has acquired Scinomix, a U.S.-based provider of laboratory automation technologies, as the industrial and life sciences solutions company continues to build out its life sciences portfolio through bolt-on M&A.

Ingersoll Rand said the deal strengthens its Life Sciences platform within the Precision and Science Technologies (P&ST) segment and supports its broader strategy of adding founder-owned businesses with scalable opportunities for innovation and market expansion. The company characterized the investment as being made at an attractive pre-synergy purchase multiple of approximately 10x Scinomix’s 2025 adjusted EBITDA.

Scinomix designs and manufactures automation solutions intended to increase throughput, accuracy, and traceability in lab environments. Its product set includes technologies for labeling, handling, barcode scanning, and capping of common lab containers and consumables, including tubes, vials, microplates, and liquids.

The company’s solutions are used across a range of end markets and lab types, including clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, forensic, agricultural, and genetic testing. Ingersoll Rand said these tools can help improve sample management by offering scalable, easily configurable systems that enhance efficiency and precision across laboratory workflows.

Ingersoll Rand expects the acquisition to broaden the solutions it can provide to lab customers by combining Scinomix’s offerings with existing technologies across its portfolio. The company said the addition will help it deliver more comprehensive, end-to-end lab solutions, particularly in applications where greater automation and higher accuracy are increasingly important.

The transaction also underscores Ingersoll Rand’s ongoing focus on identifying proprietary acquisition opportunities and integrating specialized businesses into its operating platforms. Scinomix will be integrated into the Life Sciences platform under P&ST.

Ingersoll Rand, which operates across more than 80 brands, provides mission-critical flow creation solutions along with life science and industrial technologies. The company said it is focused on durability and performance in demanding operating environments, with an emphasis on productivity and efficiency for customers.
