Inkle has acquired the bookkeeping business of Finally as the AI-powered accounting company expands its U.S. small business customer base and service capabilities. The transaction was structured as an all-cash asset purchase.
Approximately 100 Finally employees across the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Miami, Boca Raton, and New York will join Inkle as part of the transaction.
Finally bookkeeping customers will continue working with their existing bookkeeping teams, which will now operate on Inkle’s platform.
Inkle said the acquisition strengthens its ability to serve U.S. small businesses beyond the technology sector, including owner-operated businesses, professional services firms, contractors, clinics, restaurants, and other companies.
The company operates an AI-powered CPA and bookkeeping model that combines accounting professionals with its proprietary software and frontier AI.
Inkle has reached profitability after raising $1.5 million in pre-seed financing.
The company now offers its software without a separate subscription charge and generates revenue through bookkeeping, tax, and compliance services.
Customers can use Inkle’s services with the company’s own Inkle Books general ledger as well as platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, and Mercury Books.
Inkle said the Finally transaction gives the company 24-hour delivery coverage through teams spanning the Americas and Asia.
The company builds its own accounting software and uses AI across bookkeeping, tax, and compliance processes to increase the number of customers that CPA-led teams can support.
Inkle describes its platform as ledger-agnostic, allowing businesses to retain existing accounting systems while accessing its service organization and AI tools.
The acquisition is Inkle’s first strategic transaction and forms part of the company’s broader strategy to build a larger technology-enabled accounting firm serving thousands of U.S. businesses.
