inMusic announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Native Instruments, the Berlin-based music technology company behind music production, DJ, audio mastering, and creator software platforms. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Native Instruments develops music production platforms including Kontakt, Traktor, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx, and has built a global creator ecosystem with more than 25 million registered users.

The acquisition expands inMusic’s portfolio of music technology brands, which currently includes Akai Professional, Moog Music, Denon DJ, Numark, Rane, M-Audio, Alesis, and Alto Professional.

According to the companies, the transaction builds on an existing partnership established in 2025 that integrated Native Instruments’ NKS technology with Akai Professional and M-Audio controller products while bringing Native Instruments sounds to the MPC standalone platform.

The companies said the combination is intended to deepen hardware and software integration across music production, DJ, and creator workflows while accelerating innovation for musicians, producers, and DJs.

Following completion of the transaction, Native Instruments’ products, platforms, services, and customer support operations will continue operating normally across all brands and territories.

The companies stated that the transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 1992, inMusic is headquartered in Rhode Island and operates globally across music production and performance technology markets.

Native Instruments has operated for more than 30 years developing music creation software and hardware technologies for producers, musicians, and DJs worldwide.
