Innoviz Technologies has appointed Yoav Har-Even as Chairperson of its Board of Directors as the LiDAR technology company expands beyond automotive applications into defense, homeland security, industrial and smart infrastructure markets.
Har-Even, who joined Innoviz’s board in July 2026, succeeds Amichai Steinberg, who has elected to step down as Chairperson after leading the board since Innoviz’s Nasdaq listing in April 2021. Steinberg will remain a director.
Har-Even brings extensive defense industry and military leadership experience. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems from 2016 to 2024, overseeing global operations, technology development, manufacturing and international business activities.
Before joining Rafael, Har-Even spent more than three decades in the Israel Defense Forces and retired with the rank of Major General. His senior positions included Head of the Operations Directorate, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Command and Commander of an Armored Division.
He also serves as Chairperson of the board of S.T. and sits on advisory boards for Ondas Holdings and Massivit 3D Printing Technologies.
The leadership appointment comes as Innoviz broadens the addressable markets for its automotive-grade LiDAR technology. Along with autonomous driving, the company is targeting applications including defense, counter-UAS systems, unmanned ground vehicles and perimeter security.
Innoviz operates across the U.S., Europe and Asia and supplies LiDAR sensors and complementary software designed for accurate 3D sensing and real-time spatial awareness.
Founder and CEO Omer Keilaf said Har-Even’s defense and security expertise gives the board additional perspective as Innoviz scales those newer markets.
