Inovia Capital Holds $200 Million First Close For Venture Fund 6

Inovia Capital has held a $200 million first close for Inovia Venture Fund 6, its latest venture capital fund focused on backing technology companies and emerging frontier technologies.

The new fund builds on nearly two decades of Inovia’s experience investing in and partnering with technology founders. The firm said Venture Fund 6 will continue its focus on companies positioned to benefit from rapid technological change, including businesses that are AI-native and companies developing emerging frontier technologies.

Investors participating in the first close include La Caisse, formerly known as Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, BDC, Investissement Québec, Teralys Capital, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Fondation, and CIBC.

Inovia said the $200 million first close reflects continued institutional support for its venture strategy and provides additional capital to back founders building the next generation of technology businesses.

The firm highlighted artificial intelligence as an important area of opportunity for the new fund, pointing to the accelerating pace of innovation across its existing venture portfolio. Venture Fund 6 is intended to build on that momentum by supporting founders developing new technologies and business models as AI adoption and other emerging technologies reshape industries.

Inovia operates across multiple stages of the technology investment lifecycle and has spent nearly two decades investing in technology companies. Its venture strategy focuses on working with ambitious founders at earlier stages while providing capital and support as businesses grow.

The first close gives Inovia additional resources to pursue new investments while continuing to support companies within its existing venture ecosystem.

The firm said the pace of change across technology markets is creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors, particularly as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded across software, infrastructure, and other emerging technology categories.

The $200 million first close represents the beginning of the fundraising process for Venture Fund 6, with Inovia continuing to build its investor base as it deploys capital into new technology companies.
