Insight Partners has appointed Amir Malayery as a Managing Director to lead the firm’s secondaries strategy, expanding its effort to provide liquidity solutions and flexible capital across the software ecosystem.
The global software investor said Malayery will help drive and scale a secondaries platform that builds on Insight’s long-standing activity in the market, beginning with direct secondary transactions and later expanding into indirect transactions alongside early-stage venture general partners. The firm said the approach will lean on Insight’s information advantage from decades of software investing and an “asset-centric” focus on companies it already knows through direct relationships and a strong view of growth trajectories and potential exit outcomes.
Malayery joins from Industry Ventures, where he helped lead technology-focused secondary investing. Before that, he worked on technology and internet investments at Summit Partners. Insight said he has deployed more than $1 billion across venture capital and growth equity investments over his career, bringing nearly a decade of dedicated secondaries experience and more than 15 years of technology investing and operating expertise.
Outside investing, Malayery previously founded and served as CEO of Dapper Shopping, an e-commerce company focused on universal checkout tools for mobile applications. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and degrees from Stanford University.
Insight Partners said it manages over $90 billion in regulatory assets under management as of June 30, 2025, and has invested in more than 875 companies globally, with over 55 of those portfolio companies having gone public. The firm is headquartered in New York City and has leadership presence in London, Tel Aviv, and the Bay Area.
