InSoil announced that it has secured a €120 million senior secured credit facility from Pollen Street Capital. The facility represents one of the largest private credit commitments to date for sustainable agriculture lending in Europe.
The financing will expand InSoil’s capacity to provide mid-term debt capital to small and medium-sized agricultural businesses adopting sustainable farming practices. These practices include no-till cultivation, cover cropping, diversified crop rotation, and reduced use of synthetic fertilizers.
The underlying loans benefit from a guarantee from the European Investment Fund under the InvestEU program. InvestEU is designed to mobilize at least €372 billion in additional investment for European Union policy priorities.
InSoil said the facility addresses a segment of the market that has historically been underserved by traditional bank lenders. The European Investment Bank has estimated an annual SME financing gap of €62 billion in the sector.
Since launching in 2020, InSoil has financed more than 3,500 agricultural SMEs investing in sustainable farming practices. The company has also collected more than 15,000 soil samples across participating farms, creating one of the region’s largest proprietary soil carbon datasets.
That soil carbon dataset supports both InSoil’s credit underwriting and climate measurement capabilities. The company uses this approach to connect agricultural financing with measurable environmental outcomes.
InSoil is a European climate finance company focused on channeling institutional capital into the transition to regenerative agriculture. The company combines proprietary credit underwriting with climate outcomes, including the issuance of soil carbon credits under the Verified Carbon Standard.
Pollen Street said the investment reflects its focus on European specialty finance platforms with strong origination capabilities, government-backed structural protections, and positive environmental and social impact. Pollen Street manages more than €8 billion in assets under management across private equity and credit strategies.
The European Investment Fund is part of the EIB Group and focuses on improving access to finance for small and medium-sized businesses and startups across Europe. Through guarantees, equity, and partnerships with banks and investment funds, the EIF mobilizes private investment across the European market.

This facility lets us meet that demand at scale, and shows that sustainable agriculture has become an investable asset class for institutional capital.”
Laimonas Noreika, CEO and Founder of InSoil
