Inspiren has raised $70 million in Series C funding at a valuation exceeding $500 million to expand its Physical AI platform for senior living communities, bringing the company’s total funding to $225 million. The round was led by NewView Capital, with participation from Insight Partners, Primary Venture Partners, Scale Venture Partners, Vintage Investment Partners, Lightbank, Avenir Growth Capital, Story Ventures and Camber Creek.
Inspiren is building AI-powered technology designed to help senior living caregivers understand what is happening with residents in real time, including events and behavioral changes that might otherwise occur unseen inside residents’ rooms.
Its Physical AI technology combines ambient awareness with longitudinal resident and community data to help care teams identify emergencies as they happen and detect smaller changes that may precede more serious events.
The system provides capabilities including real-time behavioral and emergency alerts, fall detection and care utilization insights, using a privacy-first design intended to protect resident dignity.
Inspiren cited several customer results. At Aegis Living, residents who opted into Inspiren stayed 34% longer, experienced a 22% lower fall rate and had a 24% lower injury rate.
At Clearwater Living, falls resulting in injury declined 63% during the first three months and post-fall emergency room visits declined 73%.
A 10-month study at Solera Senior Living’s Lumina Las Vegas showed a 48% reduction in falls, 54% fewer hospitalizations and 50% faster staff response times.
Inspiren recently expanded its eCall system with Two-Way Voice and Alert Claiming, giving care teams more information during the first moments after a resident requests assistance, including what is occurring, what the resident needs and who is responding.
The capabilities are being rolled out in phases, with additional intelligence functions planned.
Inspiren now powers care in communities associated with more than 80% of the largest senior housing investors, including AEW and Sabra Healthcare REIT. Its operator customers include Arrow Senior Living, Ascent Living Communities, Heritage Communities, Thrive Senior Living and Wellpointe.
The company will use the Series C to scale its go-to-market organization, expand its hardware ecosystem and deepen its AI platform, increasing the range of events and behaviors its models can detect, predict and act on across senior living communities.
Inspiren was founded in 2016 by Michael Wang, a former Green Beret and cardiothoracic nurse, and is led by CEO Alex Hejnosz.
KEY QUOTES:
“A decade from now, no one will accept that a resident’s needs could go unknown behind a closed door. We are already making that unthinkable in the communities we serve, and this funding puts it within reach for many more.”
Michael Wang, Founder and Chief Clinical Officer of Inspiren
“Inspiren’s impact is apparent across the board. Residents experience fewer falls and hospitalizations, while operators see longer stays and care teams can focus their time where it matters most. Few technologies can improve both clinical outcomes and community economics at the same time. That combination is what makes physical AI so compelling for senior living.”
Nick Bunick, Partner at NewView Capital
“Inspiren’s impact in our memory support communities was immediate, with fewer falls with injury, fewer emergency room visits, and a care team that had real-time clarity. We are excited to continue to work with Inspiren in the coming year throughout our portfolio.”
Danielle Morgan, CEO of Clearwater Living
