Inszone Insurance Services has announced the acquisition of Smith & Company Insurance, bringing a more than 120-year-old Arkansas agency into its national insurance brokerage organization. The deal continues Inszone’s expansion across Arkansas and adds a deeply entrenched local institution with specialized expertise in aviation and commercial agriculture insurance.
Smith & Company Insurance traces its earliest documentation back to 1904, making it one of the most historic agencies to join the Inszone platform. The Smith family officially purchased the agency in 1971 and built it into a trusted community institution over the following decades. Today the agency is co-owned by Mark Smith, Drew Higginbothom, and William Smith, who expanded the business while maintaining its commitment to hometown service. Over the years, Smith & Company developed a highly successful aviation division and established a strong presence in the commercial agriculture space, alongside writing policies for multiple banks throughout the region.
The acquisition adds specialized industry knowledge and deep local relationships to Inszone’s growing national footprint. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Sacramento, California, Inszone now serves clients through offices across 23 states including California, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Texas, and others, with additional expansion planned nationwide. The company said it continues to grow both organically and through strategic acquisitions, with a focus on retaining the local character and client relationships that make acquired agencies valuable.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
