Intellect Acquires Zaptic To Enhance AI-Powered Quality Management

Intellect has announced its acquisition of the UK-based Connected Frontline Worker platform, Zaptic, in a move that significantly expands its global operations and strengthens its AI-powered Quality Management System capabilities. The deal brings together two complementary technologies aimed at unifying quality, safety, and frontline execution for manufacturers in Food and Beverage, consumer goods, and other regulated sectors.

Zaptic, founded in Manchester, specializes in digitizing frontline processes such as production checks and continuous improvement programs, and is used by manufacturers including Berry and Asahi. Integrating Zaptic into Intellect’s platform will connect quality and compliance data directly with day-to-day operational execution, creating a single ecosystem designed to improve performance, efficiency, and visibility across plant floors and enterprise operations.

With the acquisition, Intellect will introduce Connected Frontline Worker technology to its U.S. customer base for the first time. The combined platform aims to equip frontline teams with AI-driven workflows, strengthen collaboration, and deliver real-time insights that support faster decision-making and measurable operational improvements across all plants and production lines.

The acquisition also reflects findings from Constellation Research, which highlights the need for AI systems in complex operational environments to access organizational knowledge, configuration settings, and SOP documentation to deliver relevant insights. Intellect and Zaptic aim to bridge this gap by integrating quality, compliance, and operational context through a unified system.

Following the transaction, Zaptic will continue to operate from the UK, enabling Intellect to expand its European footprint and support global customers with localized expertise. Intellect remains backed by Strattam Capital, which invested in the company in 2022 to accelerate growth in AI-powered quality management solutions. That backing has enabled Intellect to expand in regulated industries and scale its operations amid rising global demand for digital transformation in manufacturing and life sciences.

KEY QUOTES

“Our goal has always been to transform how quality and operations teams work together. With Zaptic, we’re not just expanding our technology, we’re uniting people, processes, and AI to deliver faster insights and stronger compliance across manufacturing.”

Heather Preu, CEO of Intellect

“Most software-as-a-service (SaaS) AI systems cannot deliver on advanced AI capabilities such as AI-led troubleshooting, hyper-care, and resource optimization due to a lack of context. In the customer support world, systems that support frontline worker productivity must have access to customer data, configuration settings, and standard operating procedure (SOP) documents. Access to internal intellectual property, best practices, and the organization’s business and knowledge graphs is essential to delivering relevancy on the front lines for AI natives and AI exponentials.”

R “Ray” Wang, Constellation Research

“This acquisition marks the start of the next era in connected operations – where compliance and quality are enabled through one performance driving system designed around people, enabled with AI. Intellect brings the global scale and resources to accelerate our vision and massively expand the impact we can have across industries worldwide.”

Richard Milnes, CEO of Zaptic
