Interface, a startup developing an AI-powered operations platform for the energy sector, has closed a $3.5 million seed round led by Defy.vc with participation from Precursor Ventures, Rock Yard Ventures, Entrepreneurs First, Transpose Platform, and several angel investors.

The company said it is focused on modernizing how energy operators manage and access critical documentation such as procedures, manuals, and P&IDs. Interface’s system is designed to keep essential information accurate, compliant, and instantly accessible without placing additional administrative burden on teams.

According to the company, it already supports multiple Fortune 500 operators across North America, helping them save hundreds of thousands of dollars per site while improving safety by enabling faster access to reliable operational information.

Interface was founded by CEO Thomas Lee Young and Aaryan Mehta after meeting through Entrepreneurs First. Young, who grew up in Trinidad in a family of engineers, said the company’s mission is rooted in building technology that delivers meaningful real-world impact.

Young emphasized that the energy industry remains hindered by outdated software systems and unsafe legacy processes, creating significant opportunity for modern AI-driven tools. The company said it is now focused on executing against a large and growing need across heavy industry.
