International Paper announced that it has completed its $360 million acquisition of North Pacific Paper Company (NORPAC), a producer of lightweight recycled packaging papers based in Longview, Washington. The transaction brings NORPAC, previously a portfolio company of One Rock Capital Partners, into International Paper’s growing packaging portfolio as the company continues its strategic transformation and expansion across North America.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen International Paper’s ability to serve customers throughout the West Coast region, increase system flexibility, and enhance production capabilities. By integrating NORPAC’s operations and expertise, International Paper aims to better meet rising demand for lightweight, high-performance packaging grades and improve service levels for customers in key western markets.

International Paper said the combination unites two organizations with complementary strengths, high-quality product offerings, and a shared focus on customer service. The company views the transaction as an important step in creating additional value for customers, employees, and shareholders while expanding its sustainable packaging platform.

NORPAC has operated in Longview, Washington for approximately 50 years and specializes in environmentally sustainable recycled packaging papers. The company has built a reputation for innovation and adaptability as market, technology, and environmental requirements have evolved over time.

International Paper is a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and corrugated packaging, serving customers across a wide range of industries. The company said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy to strengthen its packaging business and expand its ability to serve growing customer needs across North America.
