Invertix has announced a €1.7 million pre-seed funding round as it seeks to transform how energy companies operate in the AI era. The company is building agentic infrastructure that enables energy firms to deploy AI agents throughout their organizations with the goal of dramatically improving operational efficiency and accelerating decision making.
The company’s founding story began in early 2025 when co-founders Joseph Perrotta and Kaan Durmaz met while working at Brightdale. As roommates and collaborators, they spent months building and testing AI products, rapidly iterating on ideas and gaining firsthand experience in developing practical AI applications.
Their entrepreneurial journey led them to Munich, where they committed to working full time on their venture. Operating out of the TUM.ai office, they immersed themselves in one of Europe’s most active AI communities. During this period, they connected with Menelaos Panagiotis Fotiadis and Nicole Thorisch, who joined them in pursuing a focused strategy around the energy sector.
After extensive market research, the team concluded that energy represented one of the most important opportunities for AI-driven transformation. The founders viewed the sector as foundational to broader economic and technological progress, making it a compelling area in which to build long-term solutions.
To validate the opportunity, the team conducted significant outreach across the industry. They contacted more than 5,000 individuals and held conversations with over 500 energy professionals, including operators, founders, investors, engineers, and executives. Through those discussions, they identified operational challenges that they believed could be addressed through AI-powered infrastructure.
The company also credits its network of angel investors with helping refine its strategy and industry understanding during the early stages of development. Additional support came from investors including Felix Krause of Vireo Ventures and Irene of Italian Founders Fund, who backed the founders’ vision for modernizing operations across the energy sector.
With the funding now secured, Invertix plans to accelerate development of what it describes as the AI operating layer for energy companies. The startup said it has already generated significant commercial traction, reaching multiple six figures in annual recurring revenue less than a month after closing the financing round.
The company believes the funding marks the beginning of its next phase of growth as it continues building AI solutions designed specifically for energy industry workflows and operations.
