Invesco has entered a strategic partnership with LGT Capital Partners to develop multi-alternative private markets solutions to expand access for U.S. wealth and retirement investors. The firms said the initial focus will be on the U.S. wealth and retirement channels, positioning the collaboration to simplify access to private markets through portfolio solutions and investor education.
The two firms said the partnership is built around aligning complementary capabilities, with Invesco contributing scale across U.S. wealth distribution and a sizable alternatives platform, while LGT Capital Partners brings long-standing experience building multi-alternative and evergreen portfolios and sourcing opportunities through a large global network of general partners.
Invesco said it manages more than $190 billion in global private markets and alternatives and has decades of experience investing in private real estate and private credit. The firm also said it manages more than $1 trillion for U.S. wealth clients and described itself as the largest stable value provider in defined contribution retirement plans, positioning it to broaden adoption of private markets allocations among advisors and plan sponsors.
LGT Capital Partners said it has more than 25 years of experience investing on behalf of more than 700 institutional clients across 50 countries and has developed expertise managing multi-alternative and evergreen portfolios across market cycles. The firm said it works with a network of more than 800 general partners to provide access to segments of private markets, including private equity, private credit, and infrastructure. It noted that its private markets secondaries platform is an active participant in the global market. LGT Capital Partners also said it often invests alongside clients as a principal investor and plans to commit significant seed capital to support the launch of products developed through the partnership.
The firms positioned the partnership as a response to growing demand from individual investors and retirement savers for institutional-style private markets exposure, to improve diversification and capture long-term growth opportunities typically less accessible through public markets alone.
