Invest Clearly: Interview With Founder & CEO Pat Zingarella About The Investor Review Platform

By Amit Chowdhry • Today at 8:15 AM

Invest Clearly is a platform that hosts reviews from verified investors in the private investing space. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Invest Clearly Founder and CEO Pat Zingarella to learn more.

Pat Zingarella’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Zingarella said:

“I spent more than five years in sales and leadership roles at Gartner, working with early-stage tech companies. While at Gartner, I caught the real estate bug and started investing in small multifamily properties, eventually working my way up to commercial real estate. From there, I started pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, which eventually led to the creation of Invest Clearly.”

Formation of the Company

How did the idea for the company come together? Zingarella shared:

“The idea of Invest Clearly was born from a few experiences. The biggest contributor was that I trusted the wrong person based on their ability to gain notoriety and generate attention through influence. It was almost the worst financial decision I’d ever made. Following this experience, I was consulting for a digital marketing company in this space and realized how hard it was to truly differentiate between and uncover information on these operators.

Private markets have historically relied on self-reported reputations and marketing, rather than shared investor experience. But investors (retail and institutional) are calling for greater transparency across the board.

As I dug in, I realized there was a massive information asymmetry favoring the general partners (GPs) and no centralized location that helped the investor objectively find and evaluate the GPs based on the experiences of others. Thus, Invest Clearly was born.”

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Zingarella reflected:

“Oh man, there are a lot, but it has to be that first review hitting the site. It was months of building, breaking, iterating and delaying — then finally launching. When we launched, it was with a subpar, clunky MVP that had about 30% of the features we wanted to launch with. Then that first review hit, and it felt like I had another child (don’t tell my family that).”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Zingarella explained:

“Our core product is hosting reviews of real estate investment firms from verified investors. Before a review is published, it must be accompanied with proof that the investor has participated with the GP. GPs cannot remove or edit reviews. This allows limited partners (LPs) to know that they are accessing real unfiltered reviews and protects the GPs from unverified sources.

For LPs, these reviews become a knowledge resource when making decisions, backed by the confidence of that investment proof. In Q1 2025, we’ve seen the number of reviews on the platform grow by over 30% alone, expanding that knowledge base.

For GPs, a profile on Invest Clearly, bolstered by a strong portfolio of investor reviews, becomes a lead generation and lead conversion tool. Social proof carries real meaning, particularly in an industry clouded in opacity. Currently, with a minimum of 10 reviews are seeing a 20% click-through-rate.

“Complementary to the reviews, we also host a directory of deals or funds. Investors can search deals and input investment preferences to receive a shortlist of GPs or deals that match those criteria.

More deal flow improves marketplace transparency, helping LPs find deals to invest in and great GPs rise to the top.”

Challenges Faced

Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently, and how did you overcome those challenges? Zingarella acknowledged:

“The biggest challenge was gaining early momentum. While we are not a transactional marketplace, we follow the fundamentals of a two-sided marketplace. The value in getting on that marketplace is having the other side already on that marketplace — everyone wants to use it as soon as everyone is using it. We overcame it simply by pounding the pavement until the dam broke. We got as many reviews as humanly possible by finding the early adopters that shared the vision. From there, it compounded.”

Evolution of the Company’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Zingarella noted:

“Let’s just say we built quite a few things in the early days that provided no value and missed seemingly obvious features that were highly valuable. Since launching, we have evolved the product based on user feedback and continue to do so. One great thing about our users is that they’re extremely ‘bought in’ and continue to offer support on future development.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Zingarella cited:

  • The first review
  • The first claimed profile
  • The first 10,000 visitors
  • The 100th review
  • The first paid client
  • The first 100,000 pageviews

….how much time do you have?!?

Total Addressable Market

What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Zingarella assessed:

“The private market industry is predicted to grow to $65 trillion assets under management (AUM) by 2032. Additionally, there are more than 24 million accredited households in the U.S. This is our TAM.

Access to private markets has expanded beyond the institutional investor, and continues growing rapidly, but the knowledge and transparency infrastructure hasn’t kept pace. That’s where we are stepping in to fill the gap. ”

Differentiation From the Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Zingarella affirmed:

“Invest Clearly was formed with the philosophy that investing is safer together, but the understanding that there’s no trustworthy resource that hosts investor experiences. We want to help investors understand who they are trusting with their capital, but for that to happen, they also need to trust us. We can’t just ask for trust–we have to earn it.

Which is why we intentionally designed our business model to eliminate the conflicts of interest that impact our competition. Our commitment to earning both the LP’s and GP’s trust is reflected in four massive differentiators:

  1. We verify that the investors have actually participated with the GP before a review is published.
  2. We do not gatekeep or put our reviews and content behind a paywall or membership sign-up. Everyone in the world can see them without ever inputting contact info.
  3. We do not take part in the actual investment transaction, and you cannot invest on the site–nor are we affiliated with a company that does so.
  4. GPs cannot edit or influence the removal of investor reviews.

These three differentiators reinforce our neutrality and objectivity, which drives investor trust.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Zingarella concluded:

“Our company goal is simple: to create a safer private investing ecosystem. We intend to be a critical part of every due diligence process on every investment in every asset class in private investing.”
