Investec Bank plc announced the expansion of its Direct Lending platform by hiring Michael Miller to lead and grow its newly established Private Credit Management (PCM) team. Investec Direct Lending is a European private credit manager offering institutional investors, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals exclusive access to higher growth and lower mid-market borrowers. The creation of the PCM team also marks the next stage in the evolution of Investec’s proposition to private debt borrowers.
Launched as a dedicated investment management function for new and existing borrowers, the PCM team will manage a portfolio of 120+ existing clients. And under Miller’s leadership, the team will be responsible for managing the credit and risk oversight of Investec’s Direct Lending book and originating new revenue opportunities by supporting Investec’s clients through their growth lifecycle.
Miller will play a crucial role in setting up the team. And he will work closely with Callum Bell, Investec’s Head of Direct Lending, to drive the continued growth of Investec’s Direct Lending business in the UK and Europe.
Miller brings over 20 years of financial services experience to the team, having previously worked for HSBC across M&A, loan markets, and portfolio management. Aligning with Investec’s mid-market focus, Miller previously had responsibility for HSBC’s sponsor coverage and the leveraged finance portfolio team.
