Investor Pointe Appoints Juan Manrique As Chief Innovation Officer As Agentic AI Expands In Private Markets

Investor Pointe has appointed Juan Manrique as Chief Innovation Officer, adding a technology entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience across technology, data, product, and marketing as the private markets technology provider expands its use of agentic AI.

Based in London, Manrique will work across clients, product, and technology to identify emerging challenges and translate them into scalable products and services.

Manrique brings more than 20 years of professional experience and 17 years as an entrepreneur.

He co-founded and served as CEO of Untap, Hydra Management, and e-Task.it and previously held senior positions across product, marketing, business development, and data services at Tiscali, Kingston Communications, Cision, and PSINet.

His appointment follows that of fellow Untap co-founder Manfredi Bargioni as Chief Client Officer, giving Investor Pointe two executives with complementary experience in understanding customer requirements and converting them into technology and product development.

Investor Pointe is positioning the appointment around a broader transformation underway across private capital markets.

Private market assets under management have nearly tripled over the past decade to $16.7 trillion at the end of 2025, according to PitchBook data cited by the company.

At the same time, private market investment products are becoming accessible to a broader base of investors.

That expansion creates additional operational requirements for investment managers, including more investor onboarding, servicing, reporting, data processing, and portfolio oversight.

Investor Pointe believes AI agents can help firms manage the increasing volume without requiring a comparable increase in employee headcount or operational complexity.

The company’s view of agentic AI extends beyond systems that simply answer questions.

Investor Pointe is developing AI agents capable of carrying out defined tasks, monitoring workflows, identifying potential problems, and determining when human attention is required.

Potential applications include routine activities involving investor onboarding and portfolio monitoring, where agents could process information, flag exceptions, and surface relevant data to employees while leaving consequential decisions with human professionals.

Manrique’s role will focus on determining where those capabilities can address practical problems for private markets firms rather than deploying AI for its own sake.

Investor Pointe said product development will remain closely tied to client needs, with the company evaluating which emerging technologies can be adopted at scale across private capital workflows.

The strategy reflects a broader shift from traditional financial software that gives employees tools to complete work toward AI systems capable of performing portions of the work themselves.

Investor Pointe’s platform combines distribution, investor engagement, portfolio management, and underlying data infrastructure within a single system.

The company’s agentic technology is supported by human specialists, allowing customers to choose levels of service ranging from self-service technology to fully managed support.

Investor Pointe currently has more than 2,500 funds managed on its system and works with investment managers, wealth managers, fund administrators, and advisors representing more than $400 billion in assets.

The company operates offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, Hyderabad, and Bogotá.

Manrique’s appointment gives Investor Pointe a dedicated executive focused on innovation as AI capabilities increasingly move from conversational interfaces toward autonomous and semi-autonomous workflows.

KEY QUOTES:

“Innovation for innovation’s sake is useless. It needs to be tied to customer pain. Our role is to listen to the market, understand the problems our customers face, and turn those needs into tangible solutions. Technology is incredibly powerful, especially with AI, but the starting point must be understanding what the customer actually needs.”

“The industry has made significant progress in opening private markets to a wider group of investors. The question now is how we make that expansion work in practice. AI gives us the ability to develop new capabilities faster, with agents taking on more of the legwork involved in managing complexity and volume, while humans remain involved in the decisions that matter.”

Juan Manrique, Chief Innovation Officer At Investor Pointe

“Juan’s appointment reflects the role we want innovation to play at Investor Pointe. We need to stay close to the challenges our clients are facing, understand where the market is heading, and translate that insight into technology that can be adopted at scale. We are constantly exploring the art of the possible, and we apply real discipline to deciding which ideas should become reality for our clients. Juan brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial, product, data, and private markets experience. His role will sit at the intersection of clients, product, and technology, helping ensure we continue to develop our platform around what the market needs.”
