IPercept Raises $16.5 Million Series A For CNC Machine Monitoring

Stockholm-based IPercept has raised $16.5 million in a Series A funding round to expand its innovative health-monitoring technology for CNC (computer numerical control) machines. This investment will help the company enhance its offerings and support a commercial launch in the United States. The funding round was co-led by prominent investors Isogon Ventures and 2150, with notable participation from several other venture firms, including Luminar Ventures, RunwayFBU, J12 Ventures, and AI.Fund.

Founded in 2019 as a spinout from the prestigious KTH Royal Institute of Technology, IPercept has developed a unique sensor technology that attaches directly to CNC machines. This advanced sensor measures movement with micrometer precision, enabling the identification of wear and degradation in critical components such as bearings, ballscrews, guides, and spindles. The ability to monitor these machines in real time without interacting with the machine’s controller or a factory’s IT network is a significant advantage, particularly for manufacturers operating in security-sensitive environments.

IPercept’s technology is already making an impact, with a customer roster that includes major industry players such as Airbus, Bosch, Scania, Hitachi Energy, and Volvo. The company also collaborates with respected industrial service partners like Konecranes and Quant, further expanding its reach and capabilities in the sector.

The newly secured financing will support IPercept’s expansion in the U.S. market by enabling initial hires, continuing product development, and deepening collaborations with industrial service providers.

As IPercept forges ahead, it positions itself at the forefront of technological advancement in CNC machine monitoring.
