Iron Path Capital has closed Iron Path Capital Fund II with $450 million in total commitments, exceeding the fund’s hard cap after completing the fundraising process in five months.
The oversubscribed fund received commitments from both existing and new limited partners.
Iron Path plans to continue using its strategy of investing in lower-middle-market companies operating in specialized and highly technical sectors.
The firm’s primary areas of focus include specialty chemicals and materials, engineered products and solutions and technical services.
Iron Path targets companies serving highly regulated end markets where technical capabilities, industry expertise and specialized operations can provide competitive differentiation.
The firm combines its investment activities with an operational approach through its Full Immersion Operations team, known as FIOps.
That group works alongside management teams to support operational initiatives and pursue growth across Iron Path’s portfolio companies.
Fund II will continue the firm’s focus on partnerships with founders and executives leading technical businesses that Iron Path believes can be scaled through operational improvement and strategic investment.
Iron Path refers to certain executives in its target businesses as “Mountain Climber” executives, reflecting its emphasis on operators seeking to build larger companies within specialized markets.
Support: M2O Private Fund Advisors served as exclusive placement agent to Fund II. Foley & Lardner provided legal counsel.
