Isembard: $50 Million Raised For AI-Powered Aerospace And Defense Factories

Isembard has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate the rollout of AI-powered manufacturing facilities focused on high-precision components for aerospace, defense, energy, and robotics customers. The round was led by Union Square Ventures, an early investor in companies including Twitter, Coinbase, Etsy, Abridge, and Twilio. New investors Tamarack Global and IQ Capital joined the round alongside existing backers Notion Capital and CIV. The company also attracted several angel investors, including Alex Bouaziz, founder and CEO of Deel; Andrei Danescu, founder and CEO of Dexory Robotics; and Matt Briers, former CFO of Wise.

The funding comes less than 12 months after the company’s seed round and will support plans to launch 25 factories by the end of 2026 while expanding engineering teams and entering new markets across Germany, France, and Ukraine.

Isembard focuses on manufacturing high-precision components and operates a network of company-owned and franchise factories powered by its proprietary AI platform, MasonOS. The software integrates quoting, scheduling, supply chain management, manufacturing operations, quality control, and delivery into a single system designed to automate and optimize factory performance.

The company says the global component manufacturing market is worth about $1.8 trillion annually but is undergoing structural strain. Small businesses account for roughly 95 percent of production, yet many are disappearing as aging owners retire and industrial capacity declines. At the same time, demand from aerospace, defense, energy, and robotics companies is increasing as governments and industries push to reshore manufacturing and strengthen supply chains.

Isembard’s franchise-based model aims to expand advanced manufacturing capacity while maintaining local ownership. The company recruits experienced operators from manufacturing, the military, franchising, and other sectors and equips them with the MasonOS platform, brand standards, engineering processes, and access to customer demand. Franchise partners can either launch new facilities from scratch or convert existing manufacturing businesses into Isembard-branded factories.

The company believes the model will enable faster deployment of advanced manufacturing infrastructure while supporting industrial capability across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Europe.

KEY QUOTES:

“Manufacturing is the origin of our security, prosperity and sense of purpose as nations. This Series A enables us to open more factories, invest in MasonOS, support exceptional franchisees and recruit the best engineers across Europe and the United States. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.”

Alexander Fitzgerald, Founder And CEO Of Isembard

“Isembard is redefining the process of owning and running a factory. By embedding deep operational expertise into an agentic OS, MasonOS lowers the barrier to operating high-performance manufacturing businesses and enables a networked, capital-efficient path to scale. At a moment when demand for advanced manufacturing is accelerating and interest in SMB ownership is rising, Isembard brings both forces together. We’re excited to partner with Alexander and his team as they expand access to factory ownership and rebuild industrial capacity across the West.”
