- IVP’s Thomas Loverro has been promoted to General Partner
- Loverro joins Somesh Dash, Steve Harrick, Jules Maltz, Sandy Miller, Eric Liaw, and Dennis Phelps as the 7th General Partner at the VC firm
Later-stage venture capital and growth equity firm IVP announced that it promoted Thomas (Tom) Loverro to General Partner. Loverro is joining Somesh Dash, Steve Harrick, Jules Maltz, Sandy Miller, Eric Liaw, and Dennis Phelps as the seventh General Partner at the VC firm. Loverro joined IVP in April 2015 and has been focused on investing in later-stage / high-growth consumer and enterprise companies.

Currently, Loverro is serving as a Board Director or Observer for Coinbase, HashiCorp, NerdWallet, and Podium. And he is actively involved in sourcing, executing, and managing investments in Amplitude, Datadog, GitHub, IEX, OnDeck, and Tanium.

Before joining IVP, Loverro as a Principal at RRE Ventures in New York. And Loverro started his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. in technology, media, and telecommunications investment banking. After Goldman, he joined RRE as an analyst. While working at RRE, he became the head of marketing at a portfolio company called Drobo.

Loverro holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management where he became an Austin Scholar. And he has a B.A. from Stanford University where he graduated with Distinction. Forbes Magazine has named Tom as one of venture capital’s up-and-comers with an inclusion in the 2019 Midas Brink List.

IVP is currently investing through IVP XVI — which is a $1.5 billion later-stage venture capital and growth equity fund. And the company is managing $7 billion in committed capital.
Ever since IVP launched in 1980, the VC firm has invested in over 400 companies, of which 109 have gone public. IVP’s later-stage investments typically range at between $10 million and $100 million.
