J.S. Held announced the acquisition of Shechter & Everett, a Florida-based forensic accounting and litigation consulting firm with more than 60 years of combined experience supporting family law matters and complex commercial disputes.

The transaction expands J.S. Held’s capabilities in forensic accounting for high-net-worth marital dissolution cases and strengthens its presence in Florida. Shechter & Everett’s expertise will be integrated with J.S. Held’s broader platform, providing clients with access to specialists across asset valuation, intellectual property, cryptocurrency and digital assets, real estate, personal property, and alternative investments.

The combined platform enables attorneys and clients to address complex financial issues through a single coordinated team rather than relying on multiple outside providers. The acquisition also builds upon J.S. Held’s previous investments in asset tracing technologies and expert testimony capabilities.

In addition to enhancing family law services, the transaction broadens J.S. Held’s capabilities in commercial disputes. The firm’s network of more than 500 professionals provides forensic accounting, valuation, financial advisory, and expert witness services across matters involving shareholder disputes, partnership conflicts, intellectual property litigation, fraud investigations, and restructurings.

J.S. Held has more than 1,500 professionals operating across six continents and serves organizations including 84% of the Global 200 law firms, 75% of the Forbes Top 20 insurance companies, and 71% of Fortune 100 companies.
