Jacobs, a Dallas-based global infrastructure and engineering firm with approximately $12 billion in annual revenue, has secured three new contracts with National Highways, the UK government company responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving England’s motorways and major A-roads. The awards expand Jacobs’ role across the strategic road network in design, asset renewal, and project management.
Two of the contracts fall under the National Highways Technical Assurance and Asset Management Framework. Under the first, Jacobs will deliver the M32 Eastville Viaduct Stages 3–5 Detailed Design — structural renewal planning for the viaduct that carries the M32 motorway into Bristol and serves as a key commuter and freight corridor connecting the city to the M4 and M5. The work is aimed at extending the asset’s operational life and reducing the risk of unplanned closures that generate congestion and safety concerns. Under the second, Jacobs will conduct M5 Wynhol Viaduct Stages 1–2 Preliminary Design, assessing structural needs and developing sustainable intervention options for one of the UK’s most important north-south freight routes.
The third award places Jacobs on the Construction and Professional Management Services Lot 2 framework under a project management services role, leading a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering a minimum of 15 schemes over a five-year term — an initial three-year period with two one-year extension options. Jacobs will oversee projects scoped to deliver measurable outcomes for road users and surrounding communities.
The three contracts build on Jacobs’ existing UK National Highways portfolio, which includes work on the Lower Thames Crossing, a major infrastructure program designed to improve connectivity and economic capacity across southeast England. Jacobs employs more than 6,000 people across the UK, operating from 15 core offices and over 35 additional sites.
