Corrs Chambers Westgarth has added experienced tax partner Janet Cho to its Sydney office, continuing a run of senior hires aimed at bolstering the firm’s tax offering.
Cho focuses on indirect taxes and structured transactions, with an emphasis on stamp duty, land tax and GST. Her background spans transactional and advisory work, including property and funds structuring, IPOs, mergers and demergers, corporate M&A, and complex corporate restructurings.
Corrs said the appointment strengthens its market position in indirect tax, particularly as clients navigate increasingly complex transaction structures and tax considerations across real estate, funds and broader corporate dealmaking.
The hire follows other recent senior appointments in Corrs’ tax practice, including Costa Koutsis’ move from Ashurst, where he served as global co-head of the firm’s tax practice. Corrs said the combination of those additions and other recent hires has reinforced the depth of its indirect tax bench.
KEY QUOTE:
“Janet has significant experience working on complex and high-value transactions and her appointment further strengthens our market-leading tax team. We are delighted to welcome Janet to the Corrs partnership.”
Gavin MacLaren, Senior Partner and CEO, Corrs Chambers Westgarth
