Janus Henderson Hires BlackRock’s Helen Jewell And JPMorgan’s Shilpee Raina For Senior Global Equities Roles

Janus Henderson Investors has hired Helen Jewell and Shilpee Raina for senior investment leadership roles as the approximately $500 billion asset manager strengthens its global equities franchise.

Jewell will join Janus Henderson as Head of EMEA & Asia Pacific Equities on December 1, 2026, while Raina will become Lead Portfolio Manager of the Janus Henderson Forty Fund and Transformational Growth ETF on January 1, 2027.

Jewell will be based in London and will lead equity portfolio management and research teams across EMEA and Asia Pacific. She will also join the Janus Henderson Executive Committee.

She joins from BlackRock, where she most recently served as International CIO of Fundamental Equities and was responsible for investment oversight across the firm’s non-U.S. fundamental active equity platform.

During more than a decade at BlackRock, Jewell also served as CIO of Fundamental Equities for EMEA and Global Director of Research for Fundamental Active Equities.

Before BlackRock, she spent approximately a decade at Goldman Sachs, including as EMEA Deputy Director of Research within Global Investment Research, after beginning her career in utilities investment banking at Deutsche Bank.

Raina joins from J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where she was Co-Portfolio Manager of the Large Cap Core Equity Strategy within the U.S. Equity Group.

She previously served as a research analyst for the JPMorgan Equity Income and U.S. Value Funds and has been with J.P. Morgan Asset Management since 2005.

At Janus Henderson, Raina will manage the Forty and Transformational Growth strategies alongside Brian Recht.

The Forty Fund is a concentrated large-cap growth portfolio investing in approximately 30 to 40 high-conviction ideas. The Transformational Growth ETF combines fundamental stock selection with themes including AI, deglobalization, healthcare innovation, digitization and migration to the cloud.

Jewell succeeds Lucas Klein, who is retiring from asset management after nearly three decades, while Raina succeeds Nick Schommer, who is leaving Janus Henderson after 13 years.

Janus Henderson manages approximately half a trillion dollars and operates offices in 26 cities worldwide.
