Jetstream Venture Fund announced it has secured positions in two startups, Surf Therapeutics and Hill Research, marking a significant expansion of its HealthTech and artificial intelligence portfolio. The moves underscore the fund’s strategy of providing broader investor access to venture-style opportunities traditionally limited to institutional capital.
The fund’s investment in Surf Therapeutics targets the development of a non-invasive ultrasound neuromodulation platform designed to treat chronic inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. The company is focused on patients who do not respond effectively to existing medications, with a goal of enabling at-home treatment that avoids drugs or surgery.
Jetstream also completed its first dedicated AI investment in Hill Research, a company building an artificial intelligence platform to accelerate clinical pharmaceutical research. The technology is aimed at reducing both the time and cost associated with drug development, positioning the company for rapid growth in a competitive sector.
According to the announcement, both investments reflect the fund’s ability to access high-demand, competitive funding rounds and deliver exposure to early-stage, high-growth companies for a wider base of investors.
Jetstream Venture Fund is an interval fund managed by Xcellerant Ventures and Sweater Industries LLC, designed to lower barriers to venture investing through reduced minimums and no carried interest.
