JIJ has raised JPY 840 million, or approximately $5.2 million, in equity financing to expand its AI-enabled mathematical optimization platform, quantum computing technologies, and international operations.
Global Brain served as lead investor through several funds it manages, while Fujitsu Ventures also participated through the Fujitsu Ventures Fund.
JIJ plans to use the financing to expand enterprise deployments, advance its JijZept AI platform, develop middleware for gate-based quantum computers, and grow its research, engineering, and business development teams.
The company has developed more than 60 use cases spanning energy, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, logistics, materials development, and other industries.
Its technology is designed to translate complex real-world operating constraints into mathematical models that can be solved and repeatedly used within business processes.
The JijZept software suite covers the optimization lifecycle from problem formulation and model development through execution and continuous improvement.
JIJ is also building technology that can operate across classical and emerging quantum computing environments. Its open-source projects include OpenJij for combinatorial optimization and Qamomile, a quantum programming language.
JijZept AI, launched in beta earlier in 2026, is being developed into a cloud-based AI agent for mathematical optimization. The system enables agents to iteratively define requirements, build mathematical models, and conduct numerical experiments based on user requests.
JIJ established a U.K. subsidiary in 2025 and a German subsidiary in 2026 and has begun expanding its U.S. business.
Participating investors include Global Brain’s flagship fund, KDDI Open Innovation Fund III, ME Innovation Fund, ANA Future Frontier Fund, KURONEKO Innovation Fund II, and Fujitsu Ventures Fund.
KEY QUOTES:
“Since JIJ was founded, we have worked at the intersection of quantum computing and mathematical optimization to address complex challenges across industries. Technologies developed through our research are now being deployed in day-to-day enterprise operations, and we believe this financing reflects confidence in both our technology and our ability to bring it into practice.”
“With this financing, we will advance our AI-enabled optimization platform and prepare for integration with gate-based quantum computers. By drawing on both mathematical optimization and hybrid quantum-classical computing, we aim to make a greater contribution to solving complex industrial challenges.”
Yu Yamashiro, Founder and CEO of JIJ
“We are deeply honored to lead this round once again, following our previous investment. Since our initial investment in 2023, JIJ has established a strong track record of adoption across a wide range of industries, addressing real-world business challenges.”
