JLL Partners has completed its acquisition of healthcare logistics company Life Couriers and appointed industry executive Edward DeMartini as CEO as the business prepares to expand its geographic footprint. JLL acquired Life Couriers from an affiliate of AUCTUS Capital Partners.
Headquartered in Munich, Life Couriers provides time-critical healthcare and life sciences transportation services through six core businesses: radiopharma, life sciences, stem cell onboard, direct-to-patient, pharma freight and emergency logistics. The company operates across the U.S., Europe, Central America and Asia.
JLL plans to support additional investment in Life Couriers’ people and operations as demand grows for radiopharmaceutical logistics, direct-to-patient services and other healthcare transportation requiring precise timing and specialized handling.
DeMartini succeeds Stefan Glebke, who will remain a strategic advisor to Life Couriers’ board during the transition.
DeMartini has more than 20 years of specialty healthcare logistics and global transportation experience.
He most recently served as CEO of The Quick Group of Companies, a Kuehne + Nagel subsidiary focused on time-critical transportation. He previously held roles at Kuehne + Nagel and DHL.
JLL Partners has invested approximately $9 billion of equity capital across 61 platform investments since its founding in 1988.
