Johnson Controls Completes Acquisition Of Alloy Enterprises To Expand Data Center Cooling Platform

Johnson Controls International plc announced the completion of its acquisition of Alloy Enterprises, a Boston-based company specializing in next-generation thermal management systems for high-performance data centers and mission-critical industrial applications. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition is intended to strengthen Johnson Controls International plc’s position within the growing data center cooling market while expanding its end-to-end thermal management capabilities for AI-driven and mission-critical computing environments. The company said the addition of Alloy Enterprises enhances its broader innovation ecosystem focused on improving thermal performance and energy efficiency.

Alloy Enterprises developed a proprietary manufacturing process and thermal management platform designed to improve cooling efficiency and heat transfer performance across advanced industrial and data center applications. According to Johnson Controls, integrating the technology into its existing portfolio is expected to deliver improved operational efficiency and thermal performance benefits across multiple cooling solutions.

The transaction was initially announced on February 18, 2026, and officially closed following completion of the acquisition process.

Johnson Controls International plc operates globally across thermal management, building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization technologies serving industries including data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education. The company said increasing demand from AI infrastructure and mission-critical environments is driving the need for higher-performance cooling technologies and expanded thermal management capabilities.
