By Amit Chowdhry • Oct 2, 2025

Andrea Traversone has recently been appointed as the Managing Partner at Jolt Capital, which is in conjunction with the firm announcing its initial commitments for Jolt Capital V. One of the first significant contributions comes from the European Investment Fund, which has invested €260 million, setting a strong foundation for the fund’s future endeavors.

With an extensive career in deep technology investment spanning over two decades, Andrea has built a remarkable reputation since 1998. Throughout his career, he has played a crucial role in raising funds across seven different investment vehicles, amassing impressive total commitments exceeding $1 billion. During this period, Andrea has executed 20 investments, deploying a total of $220 million, and has achieved significant exits that highlight the success of his investment strategies and decision-making acumen.

In 2023, Andrea was among the founding partners of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), where he was entrusted as the sole Managing Partner. In this influential role, he not only established the vision and direction for the fund but also built and managed a diverse team of 30 skilled professionals.

He spearheaded the opening of offices in key European cities, including Amsterdam, designated as the headquarters, London, and Warsaw. Andrea has expertly supervised relationships with over 20 institutional limited partners (LPs), ensuring robust engagement and collaboration. Furthermore, he played an instrumental role in executing 4 of the fund’s first 10 direct investments, showcasing his proactive approach and strategic insight in the emerging tech landscape.

Before his tenure at the NATO Innovation Fund, Andrea dedicated 25 years to Amadeus Capital Partners, where he experienced significant professional growth. Beginning in 1998, he advanced through the ranks from associate to partner, actively contributing to the deployment of three major funds: Amadeus I, II, and III. His exemplary performance led to his appointment to the firm’s board in 2009, a position he held until 2023.

In 2013, he assumed the role of Managing Partner, overseeing two distinct fund strategies. The first, Amadeus Growth, focused on managing four generations of growth and secondary deeptech funds, with total commitments reaching nearly $400 million. The second strategy, the Amadeus Digital Prosperity Fund (DPF), saw him managing an additional $110 million in fund commitments, reflecting his ability to adapt to evolving market trends and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Andrea began his professional journey as an Executive Vice President responsible for Finance at Villa Playa Dorada, a hospitality group located in Costa Rica. From 1993 to 1997, he oversaw the financial operations of two hotel properties, managing their respective investment programs and the overall operations of one of the hotels.

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, specializing in International Trade and Development, from the London School of Economics, which he completed in 1993. He further advanced his education by obtaining an MBA from Cambridge University in 1998. His expertise and extensive experience position him as a leading figure in the deeptech investment space and a valuable asset to Jolt Capital moving forward.

“Deeptech is a field of complex domains that require very specialized teams. Seasoned investors who can match Andrea’s know how and paneuropean track record in growth deeptech are rare. We know it for a fact because a few of them are already in our team. We are very excited and proud to welcome him onboard. He will not only reinforce our lineup of investing partners, but also help boost our presence in the UK.”
