JonesTrading Institutional Services announced the appointment of Soumit Roy, PhD, as Managing Director of Investment Banking, strengthening the firm’s capabilities across its investment banking and equity capital markets platforms.
In his new role, Roy will work closely with clients to provide strategic advisory and capital markets solutions, with a particular focus on the biotechnology and healthcare sectors. His appointment reflects JonesTrading’s broader effort to deepen its sector expertise and expand its healthcare investment banking platform.
Roy brings more than a decade of experience in equity research, including his previous role as Director of Research and Head of Healthcare Research at JonesTrading. Since joining the firm in 2018, he has covered a wide range of therapeutic areas, including precision medicine, immuno-oncology, genetic medicine, and neurodegenerative diseases, and has built strong relationships with healthcare-focused investors.
Prior to his time at JonesTrading, Roy was a postdoctoral fellow in clinical immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He holds a PhD in cancer research from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as advanced degrees in developmental biology and molecular genetics.
